Cooperative Reuse + NCRA Opportunity
Zero Waste Coalition Spring 2025
Happy March! We hope you are enjoying all the sunshine, blooming flowers, and new growth in the air :)
We are excited to announce two important updates:
1.) The next ZWC meeting will be the convening of the Student Coalition for Cooperative Reuse!
Our next meeting on Wednesday, March 12th 4-5pm in the Student Environmental Resource Center (SERC). We will be discussing Cooperative Reuse, or Cal Move Out, and the ways we can all support the outreach, education, marketing, and other publicity efforts for the program.
Read and add to the agenda HERE.
In 2024, students accepted nearly 200,000 pounds of reusable household items and made them free to students and the community, including: hundreds of mattresses, 488+ chairs, 1 marble top kitchen island and sink; 156+ couches, 50+ trash cans, 1 organ and so much more. In partnership with Goodwill, the program also diverted nearly 10,000 pounds of clothes, books and housewares from the landfill.
2.) Join us at the Northern California Recycling Conference 2025!
